Contents: Historical Introduction; English, Italian, Flemish, Dutch, German, Spanish and French Schools. 12" x 8½", 148pp plus 57 plates, quarter cream vegetable parchment (fancy paper), dark-yellow-green cloth sides, gold blocking, hardback. Illustrated in monochrome with 57 tissue-gurarded plates (looks like photogravure to me) and throughout the text (litho). Thumb-rub to just below centre to side of front spine; palm-rub curling to same possition of back-board cloth (both caused by holding the book); 1" split to top of spine; slightly sunned spien; boards and spine slightly 'dusty'; top-front corners bumped; slight edge-wear; monogram in top-front corner of front-free endpaper; faint foxing at ends; the odd internal fox spot(s); good, solid copy, internally very good plus; no wrapper.
