When Pam Marsh goes to a large new school and finds she is not the first-class tennis player she had imagined herself to be, she is bitterly disappointed. Moreover, what she has learned in the past proves to be wrong and she has to start almost from scratch. She has a great stroke of luck when Steve, onhe of the most promising young players in teh country, befriends here and offers to help improve her game. Life, however, is still full of complications. Pam becomes involved in enmity with Shirley, Steve's former girl friend, and Steve, himself, has difficulty in passing stiff examinations. A series of misunderstandings follow one after another but finally the combination of Pam's commonsense and Steve's good-heartedness helps the two of them to straighten out events in time to enter the inter-schools tournament together and prove themselves a formidable pair on the tennis court.
