This has the original, incorrect, title-page, which reads: '... who was born in NEWGATE and, during a Life of Continu'd Variety was Ten Year a Whore three Times Married (of which once to her own Brother) seven Year a Thief Three Year a Transported Felon in VIRGINIA, where she Reformed her ways and Died a Penitent'; this error was corrected prior to issue 'but a few survive with the original imaginary title' (Folio 50) [The actual title should read: The Fortunes and Misfortunes of The Famous Moll Flanders, Who Was Born in Newgate, and During a Life of continu'd Variety for Threescore Years, besides her Childhood, was Twelve Year a Whore, five times a Wife (whereof once to her own Brother), Twelve Years a Thief, Eight Year a Transported Felon in Virginia, at last grew Rich, liv'd Honest, and died a Penitent]. 9" x 5¾", 342pp, grey cloth printed with a repeat pattern in dark-pink, leather spine label, gold blocked lettering, hardback. Illustrated with monochrome drawings within the text by Nigel Lambourne.
Slightly sunned spine; 'dusty' at extreme foot of spine; top-front corner of back-board slightly bumped (visible internally only); slight endpaper browning; very good, complete with a good plus wrapper that has loss/chipping to head and foot of spine, sunned spine and 'dusty' (not price cut) now in protective archive wrapper.
